They Will Surf Again

They Will Surf Again (TWSA), originally founded as an independent entity in 2000, is now a division of the 501(c)3 non-profit, Life Rolls On Foundation (www.liferollson.org). They Will Surf Again, and the programs it runs under the Life Rolls On banner, continues to do work that reinforces its original mission. That goal is to seek a cure for paralysis by funding aggressive spinal cord injury (SCI) research and concurrently, to improve the quality of life of SCI victims through education and rehabilitation.

The evolution of TWSA's vision includes producing They Will Surf Again events for the Life Rolls On Foundation. The primary focus of those events is to give disabled surfers, and non-surfers alike, the unique opportunity to experience the thrill of wave riding. TWSA continues to operate under the belief that providing hope is vital to fulfilling its dream that those suffering spinal injuries will one day walk, and of course surf, again.

TWSA Honorary Founder
Bob Dancey
Bob Dancey is a 46 year-old surfer who suffered a critical spinal injury while surfing in Carlsbad, California on March 26, 2000. Bob has limited shoulder movement but has not regained feeling in his hands and legs. His progress is slow and measured in small triumphs. Bob's determination and positive attitude continue to be an inspiration to all who come in contact with him. Through the support of his wife, Michele, and his two teenage kids, Bob has become a spirited leader in our fight to give help and hope to all of those who have suffered spinal cord injuries.
